MOMENT #16` ` . . . EVERY WHERE I GO EVERY SMILE I SEE, I KNOW YOU ARE THERE SMILING BACK AT ME....` ` posted at 1:44 AM
So theres our tatts that (left to right) me, my mom, my sister, and my cousin waited 12hrs for :] I got my ribbon on my lower left side, my mom got her's on her shoulder as did my cousin, and my sister got hers on the back of her neck. The event was for a 10 yr old girl named Hannah from La Mirada, CA that was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, Stage IIA (Breast Cancer). The tatt shop, In The Skin Tattoos, took it upon themselves to create a fundraiser for the family. It was 100% non-profit and they did only the pink breast cancer ribbons all day for $20 bucks. So you guys are probably like, helloooo, your ribbon is purple, lol. but the shop did agree to do the ribbons other colors. Many people got different colors to represent something, but the $20 bucks was still donated for the cause. Yellow ribbons for the troops, red for A.I.D.S, some even got half pink and half another color, and the purple is for Alzheimer's Disease.
Three years ago my grandmother, Momo, died from Alzheimer's Disease. She was someone

whom was very close to her family and would do ANYTHING for us. So of course it was a hard blow when she got sick and then eventually passed away. Alot of us decided instead of the typical R.I.P tatts, that we were gonna get something that she loved on us which were butterflies. About three or four of us already have butterflies(including me, my mom and my cousin), while the others are work in progesses.
So when we heard Hannah's story and the event that was going to happen, my mom and I jumped at the chance to help, and well it gave us an excuse to get tatt'd together :] So after getting word out through email, alot of other people were willing to go get work done including my sister. My mom and i were originally going to just get the pink ribbon done but then my sister came up with the idea of getting them purple! So after making arrangements with the shop, they said it would be absolutely fine. The morning of the event, i told my cousin and thats when it turned into a true family event. i think the best part was being able to get tatt'd next to my mom while she was getting tatt'd. what mother and daughter can actually share that experience? not very many, haha.
Although it was for a very serious cause, the whole event was alot of fun. Just hanging out with everyone who was there, and Hannah's family. They're all such sweethearts, especially her grandma. They're all such a strong family, and i felt really good to be apart of helping them :]
